Self-Adjusting Clutch (SAC)

Technology / Special Tools / User Instructions

As clutches are subjected to continuous wear and tear, LuK, as the first clutch manufacturer worldwide, has invested tremendous efforts in the development of a wear adjustment solution SAC technology has since asserted itself in a wide variety of motor vehicles, in particular in models with large engines where the clutch can be actuated far more comfortably with an SAC.

Two Become One

Detent pin and RFL combine to create the detent bearing

Smooth and precise gearshift operation makes driving more enjoyable. The gearshift elements that are used need precise and low-friction bearing supports to keep the occurring hysteresis to a minimum and increase the clarity of the signals to the driver. Our customers’ extremely stringent design envelope requirements inspired us to create an integral solution for the detent bearing. The new combination of a detent pin and our bearing for rotary and linear motion (RLF) provides an interesting alternative for designers.

Quick Change

Friction Pads for Synchronizer Rings

INA synchronizers in manual and automated manual transmissions allow for smooth, fast gear shifts. INA’s new Friction Pad System (FPS) uses friction pad inserts instead of a layer of friction material bonded to the synchronizer ring. With friction pad inserts, completely new friction materials can be used, and the friction material can be replaced without scrapping the whole ring. With FPS, we can choose the best friction material for an application without compromising friction characteristics during the bonding process.
